QuickBooks Online Review Summary: QuickBooks Online has all the major accounting features, especially since they have added inventory and online banking features. I’d recommend that product for any new clients with small to medium sized businesses who aren’t familiar with QuickBooks.
Pros of QuickBooks Online: I love the fact that QuickBooks Online is web-based and is cloud computing. No more accountant copies or other files to deal with. Not being on the web dramatically cuts down on paper work for me as an accountant.
Cons of QuickBooks Online: The major downside of QuickBooks Online is feature parity with the QuickBooks Pro and QuickBooks Premier versions. We are also unhappy with the fact that there were several outages this year, keeping my client from accessing his books and making my own firm look like we made a bad recommendation. Thankfully we got a refund, but let’s hope this doesn’t happen again.
